Daylight Saving Time Adjustment
How does the time change affect file copying? After the time change, it may happen that the modification date of files in the source and destination differs by one hour. In this case, all files with a time difference will be copied again.
Which files are affected by the time change?
This time difference only occurs if one file is on a FAT-formatted partition and the other on an NTFS partition, since FAT partitions store timestamps without considering daylight saving time.
What to do before the time change?
Perform a copy operation before the time change so that all files in the source and destination have the same modification date. Do not modify any files in these folders until the time change has occurred.
What to do after the time change?
To resolve the time difference issue, you have two options:
- In the profile properties under copy rules, enable the option 'Treat files with differing modification date as identical'. Specify the exact time difference there. Future copy operations will then ignore this difference.
- Start a copy operation with the profile. This will copy all files with a time difference again and correct the discrepancy.
