AllSync Scheduler Options
General
Scheduler Activation
With this option you can determine whether the scheduler should be activated automatically at startup. The following settings are available:- Do not activate the scheduler at startup
- Activate scheduler at startup
- Restore the last activation state at startup
Automatically start and activate the scheduler after user login
This causes AllSync Scheduler to be automatically started and activated after user login. You can also specify that the scheduler window is automatically minimized when it starts.Confirm when shutting down AllSync Scheduler
This option causes a prompt to be shown when shutting down AllSync Scheduler. The prompt is only displayed if the scheduler is activated and at least one task is activated in the list.Restore AllSync Scheduler window if an error occurs
This option causes the AllSync Scheduler dialog to be restored and shown in the foreground when errors have occurred during a copy operation.Timer Interval
This option enables you to change the interval how often the scheduler check if a task has to be started. The standard value of 950 ms allows a task start time to the second. Example: With a value of 9000 ms the scheduler checks every 9 seconds if a task has to be started. A higher interval value reduces the CPU usage of the scheduler.Layout
Scheduler Window
Save window position and size on exit
This option causes the window position of AllSync Scheduler to be saved upon exiting and restored the next time AllSync Scheduler is started.Clicking the close button only minimizes the scheduler
This option allows you to change the behavior of the Scheduler window's close button. If this option is activated, the scheduler window is only minimized when the close button is used and the scheduler is not terminated.Windows Taskbar and Notification Area
The scheduler window is visible on the desktop (not minimized):
- Only show the scheduler in the Windows taskbar
- Only show the scheduler as an icon in the Windows notification area
- Show the scheduler in the Windows taskbar and as an icon in the notification area
The scheduler window is minimized:
- Only show the scheduler in the Windows taskbar
- Only show the scheduler as an icon in the Windows notification area
- Show the scheduler in the Windows taskbar and as an icon in the notification area
Task List
Here you can specify the font for the task list.Task
Set the application priority to 'low' when starting a task
Activate this option if your system is overburdened while performing a task and other applications are taking too long to respond to user input.Display progress indicator when starting a task
This option causes the task list to be automatically hidden when starting a task, and the progress indicator to be displayed.Reduce hard disk accesses per second
This option enables you to reduce the number of hard disk accesses per second so that other applications do not become sluggish. The pause is specified in milliseconds and takes place when reading the source and destination data after each file/folder found.Animate icon in the Windows notification area during copy operation
This option causes the scheduler icon in the Windows notification area to be animated during a copy operation.Show pop up messages at the notification area of the Windows taskbar
With this option you can turn all notifications in the notification area of the Windows taskbar on or off. The scheduler shows the following notifications:- Scheduler activation
- Scheduler deactivation
- Upon task startup (optional, see task properties -> Task Start)
- Error messages while a task is running (optional, see task properties -> Task Running)
- Upon task completion (optional, see task properties -> Task End)
- Notice that the scheduler is displayed as an icon in the notification area.
Startup Mode
Shut down Windows
This options only affects tasks with the Windows Exit startup mode.Show task log upon startup when an error occurred during shutdown
This option causes the log of the last task to be displayed upon starting AllSync Scheduler for which an error occurred.Increase waiting time until the Windows shutdown dialog is displayed
This option enables you to extend the waiting time until the Windows shut down dialog is displayed. Activating this option causes the following registry entries to be changed:- HKCU \ Control Panel \ Desktop \ HungAppTimeout = 500000
- HKCU \ Control Panel \ Desktop \ WaitToKillAppTimeout = 500000
- HKCU \ Control Panel \ Desktop \ AutoEndTasks = 0
- HKCU \ Control Panel \ Desktop \ HungAppTimeout = 5000
- HKCU \ Control Panel \ Desktop \ WaitToKillAppTimeout = 20000
- HKCU \ Control Panel \ Desktop \ AutoEndTasks = 0
Rule for action "Log off user"
You can specify one of the following rules:- Don't cancel the action and run the tasks
- Cancel the action, run the tasks and log off the user
Rule for action "Restart / shut down Windows"
You can specify one of the following rules:- Don't cancel the action and run the tasks
- Cancel the action, run the tasks and shut down Windows
- Cancel the action, run the tasks and restart Windows
Run Period
With this option you can define in which time period of the day the tasks may be started. The time period can be set between 00:00 and 23:59.Abort a running task outside the specified run period
This option aborts a running task if it is outside the specified run period. With theComplete file copy process
suboption, you can specify that the current file copy process is completed before the task is terminated.
Log
Automatically remove entries from log file when they are more than ... day(s) old
With this option, the log filescheduler.txt
is checked every time a task is started and all log entries that are older than the number of days you specified are deleted.
- Please note the
Compatibility
section under the Time format option. - When deleting old log entries, a new log file is always created first and then the old log file is deleted.
